Standard design
guidance such as Approved Documents, British Standards
and International codes are generally the starting
point for any design and can often provide the
simplest route to approval. Such guidance however,
will rarely adequately cover the design of modern
multi-use and complex developments. Tenos’
fire safety engineers have in-depth knowledge
of British and International fire safety codes
and, most importantly, they understand the underlying
principles and are therefore able to advise on
situations where variations from the prescriptive
guidance can be achieved.
Tenos’ expertise allows the relevant
fire safety design guidance to be applied flexibly,
whilst identifying:
- non-compliances with standard guidance;
- high fire protection costs;
- where the design can be optimised
to achieve the required design objectives;
- where cost savings can be made; and
- alternative
'fire engineered' solutions.
